Develop technology that works in real-world systems
At IEL, we connect electronics, embedded and application software development, in-house production, testing and system integration — from the first idea to deployment in a real installation.
HOW WE WORK
From an idea to a real-world installation
We bring together the knowledge and processes required to develop a reliable industrial product.

WORK AREAS
What you can work on at IEL
Four connected work areas cover the complete product journey — from electronic circuits and software to production and deployment.
4 open positions
Hardware and electronic device development Electronic circuit and device development for industrial and power-system applications. Show details Hide details
Our development engineers participate in the design and development of new measuring, protection, communication and control devices.
Activities
- defining the electronic device architecture
- creating electrical schematics
- printed circuit board design (PCB design)
- selecting and verifying electronic components
- building, bringing up and testing prototypes
- measuring and analysing electronic circuits
- identifying and resolving hardware issues
- adapting the design to production, testing and maintenance requirements
- creating and maintaining development and production documentation
Development does not end when documentation is handed over. Engineers follow the product through prototype and production phases and collaborate with colleagues in firmware development, production, testing and system integration.
Firmware and embedded systems development Real-time software that connects electronic hardware with device functions. Show details Hide details
Firmware is the link between electronic hardware and the functions our devices perform in real-world systems.
Activities
- programming microcontrollers and processors
- developing real-time software
- implementing measurement, protection and control functions
- numerical processing of measured signals
- developing drivers for peripheral circuits
- implementing industrial communication protocols
- developing diagnostics and event logging systems
- testing software on real hardware
- analysing and resolving hardware-software issues
- optimising device reliability and performance
- documenting software functions and test results
Firmware work involves close collaboration with electronics development and direct access to prototypes, measuring equipment and production devices.
Application and systems software development Software for configuring, monitoring, analysing and connecting devices within larger systems. Show details Hide details
Alongside electronic devices, we develop software solutions for their configuration, maintenance, integration and use within larger systems.
Activities
- developing device configuration and diagnostic software
- developing tools for device upgrades and servicing
- developing communication between devices and supervisory systems
- collecting and processing measurement and operational data
- working with databases
- developing user interfaces and visualisations
- developing centralised monitoring and control systems
- developing power quality analysis functions
- integrating devices and software into complete customer solutions
- testing, documenting and maintaining software products
One such product is PQ VISION, a system for centralised collection, storage, presentation and analysis of power quality data.
Electronics manufacturing In-house manufacturing of electronic assemblies and finished devices with control over every production stage. Show details Hide details
We manufacture our internally developed electronic devices in our own production facilities, directly connecting development and production.
Activities
- preparing production according to technical documentation
- SMD assembly of electronic components
- THT assembly and manual soldering
- reworking and repairing electronic assemblies
- optical and electrical inspection of assembled circuit boards
- programming electronic assemblies
- producing cable assemblies and electrical connections
- mechanical device assembly
- in-process functional testing
- final testing of finished products
- recording production and test results
In-house production allows us to monitor product quality throughout every stage of manufacturing.
